Da ich ja jetzt meine Studienerlaubnis habe, war ich heute Downtown und habe eine Social Insurance Number (SIN) und einen kanadischen Führerschein beantragt. Das alles ging auch ganz fix, allerdings hat die Ausstellung des Führerscheins mal eben $60 gekostet... in Worten: Sechzig.
Außerdem wurde mein deutscher Führerschein einbehalten. Die nette Dame bei Service New Brunswick gab mir lediglich eine Telefonnummer des Department of Public Safety und sagte, ich solle mich doch dort mal erkundigen. Super, es wäre schon gut, wenn ich meine deutsche Fahrerlaubnis zurückbekäme. Spitzespitzespitze.
Since I have my study permit now, I was downtown today and applied for a Social Insurance Number (it's a SIN) and a Canadian driver's licence. Everything went very smoothly, although the exchange of the licence was accompanied by a hefty fee of $60... right, that is: sixty!
The fact was compounded by them keeping my German licence. The nice lady at Service New Brunswick just handed me a phone number of the Department of Public Safety and told me to find out there if I could get it back from them. Fantastic! It would be really great if I were to get back my German licence. Greatgreatgreat!
