Auch wenn George auf dem Bild etwas herablassend auf die Ente auf dem kanadischen Dollar (ein "Loonie") schaut, ist sie jetzt mehr wert als er. Also nicht unbedingt historisch, obwohl ich Enten ja sehr mag, sondern rein monetär---heute morgen bekam ich für einen kanadischen Dollar 1,004 US Dollar.
EDIT: OK, jetzt wird mir einiges klar; das ist nämlich gar keine Ente auf dem kanadischen Dollar, sondern ein Eistaucher. Und ein Eistaucher heißt hier in Nord-Amerika "Loon".
Even though George is looking a little condescending at the duck depicted on the Canadian Dollar (a "loonie"), now the duck is actually worth more than he is. Not historically, of course, although my affection for ducks is well known, but from a purely monetary perspective---this morning, I received 1.004 US Dollars for 1 Canadian Dollar.
EDIT: OK, now I see; that is no duck on the Canadian Dollar coin, but the Common Loon. Sometimes I might be a little slow, I guess.
